3. Name of My Program: STONE
4. Feature of My Program:
Basically, STONE is a heuristic based program.
The decision of a move was made through 3 steps:
(1) board evaluation: identify groups and estimate (staticly)the safty.
(2) goal determination: determine which group should attack or defense.
(3) method determination: utilize the classified pattern library to find the best
move which can acheive the goal.
The illness of this decision process makes STONE too greedy in fighting and slow in making territory.
5. Strong Point of My Program:
The current version of STONE has no strong point. However, the author of STONE has developed a mathematical sound and very efficient algorithm for calculating the mean/temperature of Conway type combinatorial games. This algorithm can be applied to endgame of Go and the author expects the application will come out is the near future.
6. My Records of Computer Go Tournaments:
* 3rd place, l996 International Computer Go Congress.
* 1st place, l993 North American Computer Go Championship.

STONE is neither a commerical program nor a shareware.
