1. Name: Darren Cook
2. Country: England, but living in Japan.
3. Name of My Program: (none - I call it 'Go Program' :-).
4. Feature of My Program:
My program concentrates on getting the evaluation as accurate as possible, and tries to avoid searching deeply. It is quite strong at life/death analysis, and can categorize many positions as alive/dead without any search. Unlike Go Tools it does not require the position to be bounded.
5. Strong Point of My Program:
I have been working on this project for four years now, and full-time since May this year. My goal is to create a go program that can play go at shodan level and above. Therefore I have been more interested in accuracy and strength, than speed. This means occassionally it will spend a number of seconds trying to decide if a chain is alive or dead. So I am concerned about meeting tournament time limits at the moment.
To try and get round this I am working on caching results, in all parts of the program
(ie. every tactical search, every time we see if a connection works, every eye analysis, every territorial analysis, etc.).
6. My Records of Computer Go Tournaments:
First tournament.
7. How to Buy or Get My Program for Each Country.
