Since 1983 we have been working out. The method of accupuncture for treating patients with diabetes mellitus. 420 patients with diabetes mellitus from 26 to 64 years of age have been treated.
Threngh employment of accupuncture we have achieved hypoglicemic effect in patients with NIDDM: the blood glucose level has decreased by 51%, and C-peptide lewel has changed from 0.94±0.082kg/ml to 1.65±0.090kg/ml (p<0.001).
Decrease of contiinsulin hormone level has been noted in patients with NIDDM under the influence of acupuncture: glucogon (p<0.05) and somatotropini (p<0.02). Acupuncture appeared rather efficient for preventive therapy and correction of macro - and microangiopathy with both IDDM and NIDDM: decrease of the aterogenic lipid level, improvement of the microvascular blood flow condition in feet and hands and also increase of their electric and thermal sensibility.

We used a therapy combining traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine (namely, the therapy combining ear pressure therapy, relaxed Qi Gong with massage apparatus and transcutaneous nerve electric stimulation) to treat 18 cases suffering from phantom body pain of SCI, using MPQ to assess the pain before and after treating. The results suggested: the values of 6 parameters of pain are highly significantly decreased (p<0.001-0.005) and 4 are significantly decreased (p<0.05) and one is no significant differences. It proved that this therapy is practical and effective. The functional mechanism needs to be studied further.
