The VALIDITY OF JOINT MOMENT BY THE LINK MODEL METHOD
Tomomitsu Kotake (Fujita Health University. Nanakuri Sanatorium, Hisai city, Japan)
Mikoto Baba (Fujita Health University, Toyoake city, Japan)
The floor reaction force and the joint displacement of a lower extremity were measured by conventional gait analysis technique. The weight and center of the gravity of the leg segments were measured by 2 directional image analysis. The data were fed to the computers to calculate the hip, knee and ankle moments by the link model method.
A healthy male performed sit-to-stand movement from knee height chair and we calculated hip, knee and ankle moments by the link model method to find how much hip and knee extension torque is required per kilogram of body weight to complete the sit-to-stand movement.
Then we compared these joint moments with the clinical findings of sit-to-stand movements of the disuse syndrome patients and evaluated the validity of these joint moments.

COURSE-OF-TIME CHANGES IN THE ANGLES AND THE JOINT MOMENTS OF A LOWER EXTREMITY DURING SIT-TO-STAND MOVEMENTS
Tomomitsu Kotake (Fujita Health University. Nanakuri Sanatorium, Hisai city, Japan)
Mikoto Baba (Fujita Health University, Toyoake city, Japan)
We attached the marks to healthy subjects at the acromion, the greater trochanter of the fumur, the joint space of the knee, the lateral malleolus of the ankle and 5th metatarsal and all subjects were asked to place their feet on various positions on the force plate before standing from a chair.
Then we used the motion analyzer, force plate and the computers and recorded course-of-time changes in the joint angle and the joint moment during sit-to-stand movements.
(The weight and center of the gravity of the leg segments were measured by 2 directional image analysis.)
We then discussed the correlation between positions of the feet before standing from a chair and the course-of-time changes in the joint angle and the joint moment during the sit-to stand movements.
