GAIT PATTERINS AFTER ANTERIOR CRUCIATE LIGAMENT RECONSTRUCTION

Ju-Hyoung Hong, Bong-Ok Kim (Chungnam National University, Taejon, Korea)

This study was performed to evaluate gait patterns after reconstruction of ligament in patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury.

We performed motion analysis on 7 male patients who had anterior cruciate ligaments reconstruction and 7 age and sex matched control subjects with ELITE 3-D, 4 camera motion analysis system.

The external flexion moment of the injured knee joint in patient group was decreased compared to the controls at three different cadences. Knee flexion angle of patient group at midstance was smaller than that of control group. External knee flexion moment was positively correlated with knee flexion angle at midstance.

It could be concluded that the patients after ACL reconstruction have smaller knee flexion moment than controls during stance phase of gait and 3-dimensional motion analysis could help objective evaluation and effective treatment of ACL injured patients.

OSTEOREFLEXOTHERAPY OF DYSPLASTIC CONARTROSIS

Malkhaz P. Pirpilashvih (Traumacenter, Tbilisi, Georgia)

Guta G. Vashadze (Department of Invalids Affairs, Tbilisi, Georgia)

Purpose: determination of effectiveness and mechanism of action of osteoreflexotherapy at dysplastic gonartrosis.

Methods: reontgenography, sensory chronaximetry by G. Yankovski, PH, PO2 and PCO2 determination in intraosseal blood.

Results: 42 patients with dysplastic gonartrosis were treated by osteoreflexotherapy. Course of treatment consists of 6-15 seances. In 33 cases pain disappeared in 9 cases - significantly decreased. In all cases it was noted increasing of knee joints movements amplitude and oxygenation of intraosseal blood, decreasing of osteoporosis and sensory chronaxia in femoral and tibial condyles.

Conclusion: treatment effect of osteoreflexotherapy at dysplastic gonartrosis is conditioned by normalization of bone's neurovascular homeostasis.
