■競技の方法
1. 競技規定
空手道競技はWKF規定にしたがって行う。規定の解釈に異議が生じた場合には、英語版の規定に基づく。
2. 競技の方法
(1) 種目
?@個人組手(-53kg、-60kg、＋60kg、オープン)各クラス2名
?A団体組手1チーム3名(個人組手のうちから編成する。)
?B個人形2名
?C団体形1チーム3名
(2) 組手試合は、トーナメント方式で敗者復活戦を実施する。
(3) 組手の試合時間は2分とする。
(4) 形の試合は点数得点制とし、1回戦は指定形、決勝戦は自由形をを演ずる。
但し出場者又はチームが16以下の場合は2回戦から行う。
3. 計量
1997年7月11日午後5時〜7時に選手村で行う。
4. ドーピング
WKFの競技規定に基づき、全種目ドーピング検査を実施する。
5. 抽選
組手競枝、形競技の抽選はWKF技術代表の立会いのもとに行う。
6. 安全具
組手競技に出場する選手は拳サポーター、マウスピースを着用する。
7. 競技場
競技場はWKFの競技規定に従って設置するものとする。
8. 表彰
各種日ごとに1位、2位、3位(組手の場合は2名又は2チーム)表彰する。
9. 抗議
抗議は、WKFの規定に従って処置する。

2. If the number of participating team is under 16, competition starts from 2nd round

a. Individual (Kumite -53kg,-60kg,+60kg, Open)2 competitors/weight category
b. Team Kumite 3 competitors selected from those participating in Individual Kumite competition
c. Individual Kata 2 competitors
d. Team Kata 3 competitors/team

4. Drawing(Kumite & Kata)
Carried out in the presence of a representative of WKF Technical Committee
5. Safety Equipment
Mitts & Gumshields are mandatory for Kumite competition
6. Competition Area
Will be set up according to WKF rules
7. Awards
1st,2nd and 3rd place(2 competitors or 2 teams in Kumite)/category
8. Protest
According to WKF rules
