佐久ろうあ太鼓

佐久ろうあ太鼓は、長野県・佐久地区のろうあ者が中心となって1988年に結成されました。その動機は、14年程前に初めて太鼓の演奏を聴いたとき、太鼓の音が耳には聞こえなかったものの腹に響き伝わり、それに感動を覚えたからです。

メンバーは、耳が聞こえないため、リズムを合わせるのが難しく、音の高低や強弱がなかなか身に付かない等、苦労はずっと浅いています。しかし、太鼓の書きやリズムは、伝わってくる腹で感じ理解することができます。

このチームは、長野県における障害者への理解が拡がることを願って様々な活動を行っています。

SAKU TAIKO

The SAKU TAIKO group was formed in 1988

principally by the individuals with hearing impairment in Saku District, Nagano Prefecture. Their first encounter with TAIKO was 14 years ago, when they attended a TAIKO performance. Having hearing impairment, the sound of TAIKO did not reach their ears, but it was a revelation for them to physically feel the rhythm of TAIKO.

The members of the group face significant challenges because it is difficult for them to coordinate their rhythm and to attain the correct pitch. Yet despite these obstacles, they are determined to catch the resonance and rhythm of the drums through vibration.

The team has been involved in a variety of activities in the hope that their efforts will lead to a greater awareness of people with disabilities living in Nagano Prefecture.
