沖縄県石垣市白保のアオサンゴの群落は、北半球で最大かつ最古といわれ、世界的にもその保全が期待されております。

和太鼓の伝統文化が、今後も歴史を担いつつ後世に引き継がれてゆくように、美しく豊かな生物多様性に富むサンゴ礁が、皆様の温かいご支援により未来に受け継がれることを願い、サンゴ礁保護研究センター設立をはじめとする保護・保全活動に尽力して参りたいと存じます。

On behalf of WWF Japan, I would like to express our deepest gratitude to Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Takamado for taking their time to attend this benefit concert. I would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kind cooperation extended by the Japan Taiko Federation and the Japan Music Foundation, which have made this TAIKO Concert possible.

Blue coral reefs situated off the coast of the Shiraho District of Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, are said to be the largest and oldest in the northern hemisphere. People around the world are in support of their preservation.

Just like our tradition of TAIKO, we wish to hand down to future generations these blue coral reefs, which are beautiful and rich in biological diversity. We are determined to do our best to protect and preserve these coral reefs by establishing the Shiraho Coral Reef Conservation Centre.

To this end, we would like to seek your kind assistance.
