ABSTRACT
In this research, to clear the behavior of motions, bending moments and drift forces of a Mega-float structure in real sea environmental exciting forces, such as wave, current and wind load, we carried out experiments with combined exciting forces in the circulating water channel with wind blower and wave maker. We made two models that were pontoon type elastic floating models made by urethane foam board. One was assumed 1/100 scale model of the real sea testing floating structure at Oppama, another model had twice thickness. We observed effects of bending stiffness on elastic response by using these models. Furthermore we observed effects of water depth on drag force of large pontoon type floating structure in constant current As the results, we obtained the characteristics of motions, bending moments and drift forces (wave drift and drag force in constant current and wind) of the large elastic floating model in the combined exciting forces. When we estimate the motions, bending moments and mooring forces of Mega-float structure in real sea condition we must consider the combined exciting forces acting on the Mega-float structure and effect of water depth.
