ABSTRACT
Recently with port facilities of artificial islands and offshore airports increasingly constructed in the seaside of metropolitan areas and in its offshores , technical innovation for port construction works have been demanded more strongly than in the past.
Especially, due to the shortage of construction skilled workers and their aging , and from the viewpoint of safety in construction works , it has become an urgent necessity to make progress this construction technology in the very deep waters. Also it has come to social problems to develop quickly processing techniques for construction by products and to secure its disposal sites. Therefore , the weight reduction of dredged clay and its recycling techniques have come to a great concern in the port construction work.
Pre-Mixed Clay Method is a method to directly transfer and place its improved soil again to the sea bottom by pre-mixing its dredged clay with a solidification material. For such a social background , this metod was obtained by inproving conventional mud solidification techniques and adopted firstly for a large scale construction works in the very deep waters.
