Thailand is experiencing rapid developments. As the nation's key transport means, earlier rearrangement and improvement in railway transport is expected. This includes the drastic time reduction in the Northern Line.
Many elements must be considered for the implementation, including the process until the start of the new trainsets running, progress of the track rehabilitation, and stable transport by step-by-step speedup of the train. Thus, well-considered planning is necessary to realize an effective transport in the line section by discussing relations of the factors stated below.
(1) Process until the start of the new trainsets running
(a) More concrete studying and planning on the time reduction and transport improvement in the Northern Line, as a part of various discussions on transport improvement programs and management measures in SRT.
(b) Planning, designing, and manufacturing trainsets
(c) Planning and implementing improvement programs on level crossings, signals, stations, and other facilities.
(d) Implementing the track rehabilitation
(2) Track rehabilitation work
In considering the progress in the ongoing track rehabilitation work and the time for completion, the starting time for the new train running must be discussed. Goals of the track rehabilitation for the moment are described below. Promotion to meet the program schedule is desirable.
(a) Between Lop Buri and Phitsanulok
