4.4 Measures for adaptation to transport in line section

In addition to the above various measures directly necessary for high speed traveling of daytime limited expresses, the measures are also necessary that new daytime limited expresses are operated harmonically with the transport operation of the whole Northern Line to steadily show the effect of speedup.

That is, according to stepwise speedup, stabilize the operations of daytime limited expresses, reduce the train delay on the whole Northern Line, and realize more stable transport compared to the current state.

4.4.1 Stepwise speedup

Because of special speedup by expecting a great time reduction, progress stepwise speedup from the following viewpoints.

(1) Realizing of steady running stability

Even if expected high speed traveling is basically possible, physically confirm the safety and stability of train running traveling in each new range of high speed.

Check the situation for each step of speed, adjust and improve even a trivial matter, and steadily realize stable commercial traveling.

(2) Mastering of operation works

Because the transport speed is considerably different from the current maximum speed, stepwise traveling is necessary for various operations requiring speed sense such as train operation and rules for handing them.

(3) Adaptation of people along permanent way

For change of train approach speeds, it is necessary to make those people concerned along a permanent way understood by addition of equipment and caution awakening and expect adaptation.
