Highly reliable Low-speed, 4 stroke Diesel engine

1. Foreward

High reliability and ease in operation and maintenance as well as low fuel consumption and high output are required to ship propulsion engines due to short of ship crew in Japan recently.

It is general in worldwide view, low-speed 2-stroke engines are used for large ships, and high or medium speed, 4-stroke engines are used for middle and small sized ships. However, in the majority of middle sized coastal ships in Japan, peculiar low-speed, 4-stroke engines are employed as lain engines. It is because that low-speed 4-stroke engines make a feature of high reliability and ease in operation and maintenance and low running cost.

LHL series engines were completed by Hanshin Diesel Works, Ltd. with its long experience and actual results in producing marine engines are pursuing high reliability, manpower-saving and economy of ship owners.

Hanshin Diesel Works, Ltd. has also developed recently anti-vibration mounting device and reduced NOx emission engines.

LH4IL(A) and LH46L(A) as big models of LHL series engines introduced

hereinafter.
