I congratulate the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Ltd. for organizing the Asia Song Festival, Hong Kong '97 with the Minoru Endoh Music Foundation from Japan.
Since its establishment in 1977, the Society has taken a very active and important role in protecting the copyright of composers and song writers and raising the standards of music in Hong Kong. The Asia Song Festival, Hong Kong '97 will give Hong Kong a valuable opportunity to exchange views and experience in music with other Asian countries. I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all the artists who are coming to take part in the Festival every success.
