日本音楽コンクール入賞後、ローゼンシュトック指揮の新響（現在のN響）の定期公演の独奏者としてデビュー。1949年から1956年までNHK交響楽団のコンサートマスターとして活躍する一方、独奏者としてシューマン、バルトーク、エルガーなどの協奏曲を日本初演。また、1953年プロムジカ弦楽四重奏団を結成し、その第1ヴァイオリンとしてベートーヴェン、バルトーク等の全曲連続演奏をはじめ多彩な室内楽活動を行い、我が国の室内楽の発展に大きく貢献する。桐朋学園大助教授を経て、1962年より京都市立芸大教授、1988年より音楽学部長を勤め、現在京都市立芸大名誉教授。また、1981年より神戸室内合奏団音楽監督を勤める。現在、日本弦楽指導者協会会長をはじめ各種団体役員を勤める。芸術選奨文部大臣賞、神戸市文化賞などを受賞。1992年「京都市文化功労者」の称号を授与され、1995年京都コンサートホール館長に就任、現在に至る。同年ポーランド共和国文化功労章を、また1998年には勲三等旭日中綬章を受章。2000年、第18回京都府文化賞特別功労賞を受賞する。

　

Having been a prizewinner at the Music Competition of Japan, Prof. Ryutaro IWABUCHI made his debut as a soloist for the subscription concerts of the New Symphony Orchestra (later renamed NHK Symphony Orchestra) under Josef Rosenstock. From 1949 to 1956, whilst serving as the concertmaster for the NHK S.O., he gave Japan premieres of several violin concerts including those of Schumann, Bartk and Elgar. As a founding member and the first violin of the Pro Musica String Quartet which was formed in 1953, he gave top-class performances of numerous complete String Quartet series, including those of Beethoven and Bartk.

After having served as Assistant Professor at Toho Gakuen University, Prof. Ryutaro IWABUCHI became Professor in 1962 and Dean of the Music Faculty of Kyoto City University of Arts and Music in 1988 and Artistic Director of the Kobe Chamber Ensemble in 1981. He is currently holding official posts in several organizations including that of President of the String Teachers Association in Japan.

He has received numerous awards, amongst them the Prize for the Arts of the Education Ministry and the Culture Prize of Kobe City. In recognition of his great contribution to music, he was conferred the title "Person of Merit for Culture of Kyoto City" in 1992. Since 1995 he is president of the Kyoto Concert Hall. In 1998 he was awarded the Order of Polish Republic for the Merit of Culture in 1995, and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in 1998. In 2000 he was awarded Eminent Merit Prize at the 18th Kyoto Prefecture Culture Prize.

　

　

　1947年旧ソ連のウラルスクに生まれる。ブリュッセルのクィーン・エリザベート国際コンクールやポズナニのヴィェニャスキ・コンクール等著名なヴァイオリンコンクールの優勝者である。初めにオデッサのストリアルスキー音楽学校で指導を受け、モスクワのグレスィン音楽学校で、ボリス・ゴールトスタイン教授のもとで研鑽を積む。その後、チャイコフスキー音学院でイゴール・オイストラフ教授に師事し、在学中に優れた演奏能力が認められ、教授補佐となる。

　また、多数のCDやLPのレコーディングに際し、その才能が世界的なレベルであることを示している。更には、グリンカ（ノボリビスク）、リュベック、ロッテルダムの各音学院やロンドン、マドリッドの音楽アカデミーで、教育者としての才能を発揮している。彼のマスタークラスへは世界各国からの多数の申込みがあり、そのことを物語っている。著名な国際音楽コンクールの入賞者の中に彼の指導した生徒がいつも入っている。その中には、日本の樫本大進等が含まれている。

　近年では指導者としての能力が買われ、世界各国の国際コンクールの審査委員に招かれる。また、日本、ポーランド、ブルガリア、ロシアでの教授を勤める一方、1998年以降はケルン音楽大学教授に就任している。

　

Born in Uralsk in 1947, Prof. Zakhar BRON is a winner in numerous renowned violin competitions including the International Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels and the Wieniawski Competition in Poznan. After a first thorough training at the Stoliarski School of Music in Odessa, he deepened his musical studies at the Gnessin Conservatory in Moscow under Boris Goldstein. Prof. Zakhar BRON finished his studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Igor Oistrakh, where - because of his exceptional performances - he was offered to become an assistant to his teacher while still being a student.

Prof. Zakhar BRON has achieved the highest standard worldwide not only as a soloist and with his numerous CD and LP recordings. He has furthermore proved his extraordinary pedagogical talents at the Glinka Conservatory in Novosibirsk, at the Musikhochschule in Lbeck, at the Rotterdam Conservatory, at the Royal Academy in London and at the Royal Academy in Madrid. There is a considerable demand for his master-classes and lectures throughout the world. His students are regularly found among the winners of the most renowned international music competitions. Several of them belong to the world elite, such as Vadim Repin, and Daishin Kashimoto.

Due to his great success as an instructor, Prof. Zakhar BRON is being invited to nearly all international competitions. He is honorary professor in Japan, Poland, Bulgaria and Russia and, since 1998, holds a post as professor at the Musikhochschule in Cologne.

　

　

　ザルツブルグ出身。1971年以来ウィーン音楽大学教授、1984年弦楽部門の部長就任後、同大学副部長となり、1992年〜1996年同大学学長を勤める。ヨーロッパ各国、北アメリカ、アジア各国で演奏活動を行う。

　彼のマスタークラスやゼミナールには多くの学生が集まるとともに、ヴァイオリンや室内楽の著名なコンクールの審査委員を勤める。

　またウィーンのフリッツ・クライスラー国際コンクール会長を勤める。1990年プラハ・ウィーン・ブダペストでの国際夏期アカデミーを設立し、その役員となる。

　1996年以降、ヨーロッパ弦楽指導者協会のオーストリア本部会長。2001年国際音楽コンクール世界連盟の副会長に選出される。

　

Prof. Michael FRISCHENSCHLAGER is a soloist, chamber musician and violin instructor form Salzburg. Since 1971 he is a Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. In 1984 he became dean of the string department, in 1989 Vice-rector of the University of Music, and served as its rector from 1992 to 1996. He has concert performances in almost all European countries, in North America and Asia. He is in great demand worldwide as a teacher for master-classes and seminars as well as a jury member of renowned violin and chamber music competitions. Since 1989 he is President of the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. He founded the International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest in 1990 and has been its director. Since 1996 he is the president of the European String Teachers Association in Austria (ESTA) . In 2001 he was elected as a vice president of World Federation of Music Competitions.

　

　

　オーストラリア出身。1960年シドニー音楽院卒業。1962年オーストラリアのA.B.Cコンクールで1位入賞を果した後、渡米。これまでリチャード・ゴールドナー、ヨゼフ・ギンゴールド、ヘンリク・シェリングの各氏に師事。ヨーロッパで活動後、アメリカ・ピッツバーグのデュークエンス大学、後に西海岸の西ワシントン大学の教授に就任。ウィーン・ヴァイオリン国際コンクールに入賞。フィラデルフィアのエンマ・フェルデマン賞を獲得。

　これまでに三つの著名なピアノトリオのメンバーとして演奏してきた。1960代はラズロ・ヴァルガ氏、イストヴァン・ナーダス氏とトリオ・コンチェルタンテを結成し、1970年代はパトリシア・バール氏、フリッツ・マッグ氏とトリオを結成。最近ではカスリン・セルビー氏、ミハエル・ゴールドシラーガー氏との3名でオーストラリア・マクワイヤー・トリオを結成している。

　1980年に帰豪し、現在シドニー音学院及びキャンベラ音学院の弦楽部長。

　

Prof. Charmian GADD was born in Australia and graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium in 1960. She won her country's top award at the A.B.C. Competition in 1962 and went to the U.S.A, to study. Her main teachers were Richard Goldner, Josef Gingold and Henryk Szeryng. She concertized widely in Europe before settling in the U.S.A. as a Professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and later at Western Washington University on the West Coast. She was a prizewinner in the Vienna International Violin Competition and received the Emma Feldman Award in Philadelphia. Prof. Charmian GADD has played with three piano trios of note - the Trio Concertante with Laszlo Varga and Istvan Nadas in the 1960s and later with Patricia Parr and Fritz Magg in the 70s. Most recently she was a member of Australia's Macquarie Trio with Kathryn Selby and Michael Goldschlager. She returned to Australia in 1987 and has since been head of the string department at the Sydney Conservatorium and the Canberra School of Music.
