The Census Report of Shipbuilding Technology and Related Maritime Technologies
in 2002
　
The Organization for Development of Shipbuilding Techniques, putting its secretariat in the Shipbuilding Research Association of Japan, has taken a census of research projects in the current fiscal year for shipbuilding technology and related maritime technologies in Japan. The target organizations of the census are mainly public sectors such as national research institutes, independent administrative agencies, foundation, aggregate corporations in which relevant technical projects are proposed. And the educational organizations such as universities and colleges also extensively searched.
The census is put together a final report in the middle of the current fiscal year and distributed to the member of the Organization and the contributors to the Shipbuilding Research Association of Japan. The content of a final report is posted on the home page of internet* of the Shipbuilding Research Association of Japan.
Taking into consideration of the extent of the shipbuilding research activities in the world, it will be worth the trouble to translate the census report into English and to utilize it for the information exchange with the foreign research organizations. With this in mind the translation project is proposed and funded by the Nippon Foundation for the fiscal year 2002.
