Name of SYLFF Program:
Sasakawa Grants

SYLFF Program:
The program supports a select group of student musicians and dancers in the area of international exchange and professional integration. The SYLFF grants are viewed as a complement to the student's budget, but one which makes a critical difference, i.e. which allows the student to study abroad or to participate in a professional residency abroad. Music students in all disciplines and from both undergraduate and graduate divisions may apply for these grants.
In the area of dance, fellowships may be used towards internships in professional dance companies, both nationally and internationally. Past experience has shown how invaluable this assistance can be: in virtually all cases, grantees have been hired subsequently by the companies in which their internships took place. These are restricted to those participating in the postgraduate dance program only.
Awards range from US$500 to $3,500. Over three hundred (300) fellowships have been awarded to date.
