Discussion
There were still exist some political trouble caused by the salary was one year late.in Central African Republique. However, it was very lucky to have done the examination and treatment of our activities with the advices of Japanese Embassy and the Ministry of Public Health of Government of Central African Republique without any problems and any accidents in this time. It was possible to do the surveys of examination and treatment have been done at the Kella・Sergent Village in Bouar Area of Savanna Zone and M'Banza in M'Baiki Area of Jungle Zone. A total of 200 inhabitants at Kella・Sergent Village and total of 72 inhabitants at M'Banza Villege were examined as usual.
And it was also very happy to have a chance to company with the African Visit Delegation of Nippon Foundation during the delegation staying in Central African Republique, and to make a time Mrs. Sono who is the chairperson of this delegation and other members of the Nippon Foundation Delegation kind visit to Kella・Sergent Village even their schedule was very tight. All the inhabitants of the village were delighted.
On the examination results, positive rate and the number of species per persons of inhabitants of the total of the persons who were received all examinations were not so decreased recentry, such as 93.4% in 2002, 88.1% in 2001, 93.0% in 2000, 89.5% in 1999, and 94.5% in 1995, 100% in 1985 in Kella・Sergent Village, and 98.3% in 2002, 98.2% in 2001, 93.3% in 2000 and 93.8% in 1999 in M'Banza Villege. The average number of parasites species per person was also summarized. There were 2.84 species in 2002, 2.81 species in 2001, 2.98 species in 2000 and 3.00 species in 1999 in Kella・Sergent village. In M'Banza Village, the average numbers were 3.60 species in 2002, 3.35 species in 2001, 2.87 species in 2000 and 3.26 species in 1999.
From our analysis, the new individuals numbers who were received parasitological and medical consultation by our surveys were increased in each year. It seems to be that the increased reasons may succeed and spread to have the knowledge and interesting on the health problems from our activities such as health education to individuals, and the neighbor villagers were also visit to our consultation and increased every years gradually. Another reasons of non decreases on both of positive rate and the numbers of species in M'Banza Village, it seems to be the exist of vector presence by the situation in Jungle areas and many visitors visit in this village because this villege is not so far from the capitol city.
Finally, it is sure that the Health Note system and health education are very useful and efficient for the health problems of inhabitants in Central African Republique. And Dr. Kalite who is Minister of Public Health and other Directors of Ministry explained to thanks for the continuous and cooperative surveys of the SASAKAWA MEDICAL MISSION. And also all villagers waiting for our mission. All the Doctors and members of Hospital and Dispensary done the activities on health problems by following our instructions during our absent term. It may continue to the surveys and support with mission in Central African Republique as possible as approvable.
At the WHO meeting in Geneva with Dr. Savioli and his staffs, all members were very happy to receive our report and they wait for our active data. The meeting was discussed about the control of parasitic diseases, and WHO have a some plan on the donation of some drugs for soil transmitted helminthiasis to African countries.
