INTRODUCTION
OBJECTIVE
TAFISA World 2001 - The Global Almanac on Sport for All aims to provide information about sport structure and the organizations that promote Sport for All in each country. To encourage exchange of information and foster interactive networks among the Sport for All organizations to advance international Sport for All movement in the future.
STRUCTURE
This Almanac contains the information obtained from 79 Sport for All organizations in 65 countries and regions. Each country section is comprised of two parts. The first part "Sport in the Country" is about the general overview of sport in the particular country or region. The second part "Organization Profile"gives readers information about Sport for All organizations, such as directory, precise description about their programs and activities. Please note that only those returned the survey are listed. The countries are arranged alphabetically consistent with the standard of IOC.
METHODOLOGY
The content of this Almanac is based on the first hand answers taken from the Survey, which was distributed to TAFISA member organizations and other international and national bodies dedicated to Sport for All worldwide. Some organizations did not respond this time are also included because they had contributed the information by the similar survey in the past. It is our editorial policy to retain the original contents as they were provided by the survey from the organizations. Currency conversion rate to US dollar is based on the rate at the time of submission of the survey. Population and land data are according to the United Nations, Demographic Yearbook 1997 unless provided by the contributors.

It is my hope that the readers will find this Almanac a valuable source
of information about Sport for All around the world.
