Cases of large-scale smuggling are repeatedly occurring as evidenced by the stimulant smuggling incident on the Kurose Coast in Kagoshima Prefecture, that was exposed in October 1999, in which the largest ever amount confiscated in one incident recorded a historic high of 564.6kg. Table 1 shows the main incidents in which JCG was involved in 1999.
