The almost errors were corrected by references, such as field notes and cruise reports, because the errors were caused by input fault. Finally four stations(i. e. , two sections) for ship speed and nine stations for observed level are flagged as error by PO-QC respectively.

In the number of 14,164 profiles(127,136 observed levels and 100,461 layers), there was no error of range outlier of temperature and salinity, and 150 erroneous layers of temperature gradient or inversion and 672 erroneous Iayers for density inversion except surface layer were also detected and fIagged respectively. By investigation for history of the measurement of salinity, it is seen that the density inversion errors except surface layer were mainly occurred befbre early 1970s(Fig.7).
