本セミナーでは、パキスタンで99年10月に発生したクーデターの直接的原因を探るとともに、それに至るまでのパキスタンを政治面、経済面から分析し、なぜクーデターが国民に支持されたかを検討するものである。

While seeking to elucidate the direct causes of the coup d'etat that took place in Pakistan in October 1999, this seminar also attempts to analyze the political and economic conditions in the country leading up to it. It also explores the reasons why the coup has enjoyed popular support in Pakistan.
