b. Duration of fever ……… short term: up to 2 weeks, long term: 2 weeks or more
c. Type of fever ……… 1]Continued fever: 38℃ or more at the highest, daily variation of less than 1℃ (lobar pneumonia, abdominal typhus, encephalitis)
2]Remittent fever: 38℃ or more at the highest, daily variation of 1℃ or more; the lowest temperature is also above normal (acute infections, sepsis, collagen disease)
3]Intermittent fever: 38℃ or more at the highest, daily variation of 1℃ or more; the lowest temperature is normal (malaria, recurrent fever)
4]Undulant fever: repeated febrile and afebrile periods (Hodgkin's disease, brucellosis)
