Example of monitoring screen displayed during automatic control

・Off-line training mode facilitates training for normal conditions and simulated abnormal conditions.

・Automatic control is fully trans-parent to operator who can smoothly take over manual control at any time.

・Operation and monitoring by means of touch screen, multi-windows and direct screen call.

・Interlock functions and safety operation messages prevent incorrect or unsafe conditions, or human error.

・Hardware and software redundancy with full self-diagnostic functions.

・Operation Controller (any unit)

Mitsubishi Dynamic Positioning System (DPS), "Bravo Super Joy"

The Mitsubishi Dynamic Positioning Systems (DPS) are computer control systems enabling the automatic positioning, heading and wind compensation of a vessel.

To control the vessel's heading, the system uses data from gyrocompasses, while at least one position-reference system (e.g. GPS, DGPS or laser beam) enables the system to position the vessel.

The system controls the vessel's motion in three horizontal directions-surge, sway and yaw-using any actuator-thrusters, main propellers and rudders.

The system calculates the force demand in the surge and sway directions and the required rotational moment (Yaw). Then these forces are distributed to the various thrusters, propellers and rudders by the system.
