MAERSK HUMBER 20,500m3 LPG Carrier

MAERSK HUMBER is the first "bi-lobe"type LPG carrier built by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES), and one of the world's largest LPG carriers of this type. The vessel has four "bi-lobe"tanks and total tank capacity at -48℃ is 20,815m3.

Features

1. The vessel can carry twelve kinds of cargo ranging from LPG to chemical gases such as anhydrous ammonia, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), isoprene and propylene oxide.

2. The cargo tanks are designed based on air pressure of 5.4 bar with cargo density of 0.972. Extensive FEM analysis was done to verify the stress level in the cargo tanks, and its accuracy was confirmed through hydraulic tests.

3. Three sets of reliquefaction plants are provided to carry two grades of cooled cargo, and also one un-cooled cargo can be loaded simultaneously. Further, various cargo handling machinery/equipment are also provided, such as, booster pumps, cargo heater/vaporizer, IGG with CO2 stripper, and nitrogen padding system, in order to enable flexible operation for variety of cargoes.

4. Bridge design is based on one-man watch (W1-OC for equip-ment and W1 for layout inside bridge).
