本日は、財団法人笹川記念保健協力財団が支援しております国際的組織、アイデア(IDEA)の活動「ハンセン病制圧」及び「世界のハンセン病患者・回復者の共生・尊厳・経済的向上」の募金活動として日本太鼓チャリテイ・コンサートを開催できますことは、誠に喜ばしいことであります。
財団法人日本太鼓連盟は、昨年文部大臣の許可を得て念願の法人化を果たしました。私どもは、これまでの事業をさらに発展させると共に、財団法人として新たな公益活動を積極的に展開いたします。様々な活動を通じて、日本太鼓を国内のみならず国際的にも普及・発展させるべく最大の努力をしていく所存であります。
本日のコンサートは、全国各地の代表的な日本太鼓チームから選抜された6チームによる演奏です。日本太鼓に対する皆様のご関心とご理解を戴ければ望外の幸せでございます。
It is our utmost pleasure and honour to hold Taiko Charity Concert this evening in support of a non-profit international organization,the International Association for Integration,Dignity & Economic Advancement,known as the IDEA.IDEA is actively supported by Sasakawa Memorial Health Foundation which is our sister foundation.
In the fall of 1997,Nippon Taiko Foundation was approved by the Minister of Education as the only nation-wide foundation for Taiko,the Japanese drums. The Foundation strives to preserve and to further promote the Taiko traditions not only in Japan but globally.
Taiko has been highly appreciated internationally. Taiko concerts abroad have not only been instrumental in introducing Japanese traditional culture,but also act as an effective way to convey heart to heart the spirit of Japan.
We hope that the performances tonight by the six especially selected teams will enhance your interest and understanding of Taiko.
