○Participant (Mizushima: Mie Prefecture)

As Ms. Takasaki mentioned, I think with just a little bit of a gambit, your transit prefecture situation can be a source of great power. I've seen data showing that people from the Tokyo area make up more than 20% Of Shiga's visitors, compared to less than 10% in Mie Prefecture's case. It's very hard, you know, to draw Tokyo dwellers out into the country! In that sense I feel you are in a very fortunate position.

Even if it's just to pass through, the fact is that people do come here. I think the opportunity is there if this traffic can be drawn in effectively. The crucial thing will be using this to advantage. Are there any opinions or comments on what we have covered so far?

In a nutshell, I believe Shiga Prefecture has plenty of pulling power. Shiga Prefecture's geographical position, as well as its historical assets, give it plenty of pulling power, I think.

In regards to accessibility, I think Shiga Prefecture is actually better suited to the day-trip visitor. If you are really thinking of having people stay in peaceful Shiga to explore Kyoto, there should probably be more work done on the transportation network.

I think Shiga Prefecture should be proud that it can offer a good time to its day-trip customers .

I feel that the last participant summed it up for us succinctly.

I think we had a very fruitful workshop today, with discussions among participants as well.

Thank you very much.
