・Future focus for local taxes
The bureau strives to make improvements in the following important issues：
・Enrichment of local tax resources, to deal with the promotion of decentralization
・Equalization of units of local tax assessment such as income, consumption and assets
Article 6 of the Decentralization Promotion Law reads "The national government should enrich the revenue resources of local authorities in accordance with the role of each authority in order that local authorities can execute their jobs independently and with initiative". The enrichment of local tax revenue resources, as the basis of independent revenue resources, is one of the most important issues to be tackled, in order for local authorities to be able to work more independently according to the principal of local autonomy from the point of view of decentralization.
