B) Research and study into the ideal way to prepare the municipal regional anti disaster plan (the earthquake preparation section) The “Municipal regional anti disaster plan (earthquake preparation section) review board” was established in fiscal 1995 to give municipalities advice on how to prepare and apply the regional anti disaster plan (earthquake preparation section).

It was organized by men of learning and experience specializing in sociology and deeply concerned about earthquake preparation. The results of the discussions from each specialist viewpoint represented on this board were distributed to all local public bodies in the form of a report.

In fiscal 1996 the review meeting dealt with the regional anti disaster plan (earthquake preparation section) of the prefectural administrations.

C) Research and study into self-defense disaster prevention organizations in special disaster areas such as petrochemical complexes

Research and study into measures for the effective use of disaster prevention resources by the private petrochemical complex was carried out in fiscal 1996.
