(1)Earthquake Preparations Grant System

1. Outline of Grant System

Local governments must systematically and comprehensively undertake various earthquake preparations such as the management of evacuation sites and evacuation roads and the maintenance of streets specifically designated for emergency transportation.

However, these projects are a financial burden upon the local governments, and the Fire Defence Agency supports local government by providing grants for these projects to ensure the promotion of earthquake preparations.

The Large Scale Earthquake Fire Defence Facilities Project is included within the Fire Defence and Disaster Facilities Grant. The Large Scale Earthquake Fire Defence Equipment Project is included within the Fire Defence and Disaster Equipment Grant. These two projects are described below:

Registered earthquake reservoirs

Storage for emergency supplies
