Mudslide Platform Development at SP47
The development of oil and gas reserves in the South Pass 47 area of the Mississippi River delta required a unique approach toward evaluating the risk of mudslides and their effect on fixed platform design. This session covers the planning and development of the field, including oceanographic, geological, and geotechnical studies, reliability methods used to assess environmental risk, and the design of a conventional platform.
