Chugoku Marine Paints, Ltd. exports SEAJET Series of paints for pleasure boats to European and other countries. These paints have been very well accepted wherever they have been sold. Here we will describe SEAJET 033, an anti-fouling paint that forms a bottom coating of a self-leachable hydration polymer. The coated surface adsorbs water molecules, and a hydration process occurs in which the polymer resin and water molecules interact to dissolve the surface layer. In this way a leaching and polishing action is achieved.
As this paint does not form a skeleton layer which conventional antifouling paints form, the coated surfaceof the coat remains smooth all the time. The motion of seawater against the surface tends to remove the loosely adhering hygroscopic layer through the chemical interaction with seawater. In addition, the design of SEAJET 033 reflects full consideration given to operating conditions, pleasure boat running speeds, mooring periods, and environmental requirements. 2 kW, 6-Inch LCD Radar "MODEL 1621 MARK-2"
The"Model 1621 MARK-2," developed by Furuno Electric Co., Ltd., is an exciting new compact LCD radar for pleasure and small craft. The display unit has a 6- inch, high-definition LCD screen which displays echoes in 4 shades of grey, giving the 1621 MARK-2 the highest resolution for this class of radar.
Standard features include an EBL (electronic bearing line), EVRM (electronic variable range marker), echo trail, and guard zone alarm. Automatic control of tuning, sensitivity (Gain) and anti-clutter combines optimum performance with ease of operation.
The MODEL 1621 MARK-2 offers three different operation modes: a watch mode and a normal or off- center mode. In the watch mode, the antenna is stopped and the transmission is off, while the screen displays nay data only. The radar wakes up at a specified time interval (5, 10 or 20 mm.) and operates for 10 scans. If targets enter or leave the guard zone, an audible alarm sounds and the radar resumes normal operation, canceling the watch mode.
You can also use this radar as a video plotter. The Furuno RP-110L chart plotter is available as an add-on option. Coastline charts as well as own ship's track can be displayed on the radar screen by simply pressing a touchkey on the RP- 110L. This is a power- full system extension for users of this radar.
