Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

90-HP Marine Diesel "Yamaha ME2O2TI" for Commercial Uses

Yamaha's ME2O2TI is a high standard marine diesel engine designed to meet the requirements for ever higher speed and greater maintenance economy as well as to be sturdy enough to endure the heavy loads of commercial use. Yamaha makes full use of technical knowledge acquired from the 13-year performance records of the ME200 series. State-of-the-art technology is applied to achieve maximum tuning of the new engines. The ME2O2TI has the following main features:
(1)It is extremely compact and light in weight, which makes it mountable even on a 25-foot class boat; (2) a direct-injection type combustion chamber contributes to a significant reduction of fuel consumption; (3) the use of an indirect fresh water cooling system and taftliding cylinder liners eliminates the need for maintenance work on piston rings (average service life of cylinder liners is 8,000 hours);
(4)a water-cooled turbocharger, a large air cooler and a high-pressure fuel injection pump contribute to high power output; (5)tapering of the connection rod small end and of the piston pin boss ensures high durability; (6)a counter weight balancer on the crankshaft helps reduce vibration and noise; (7)the use of a large capacity hydraulic marine gear Yamaha HM-30 or HM-40 enhances durability; (8)the material used in the cooling system eliminates the need for anti-corrosive zinc and makes the system maintenance-free; and
(9)a wide variety of accessories are available, including a hydraulic front power take-off.

Yanmar Diesel Engine Co., Ltd.

Yanmar Pleasure-Craft Power Model 4JH2-DT (B) E

The 4JH-DTE engine steps up the pace of progress in inboard power.
Four close-pitch cylinders give the engine its compact block while a short skirt makes the engine up to 30% lower in height than similar engines. Sleeveless cylinders give a bigger bore (82mm), with complementary features to handle the greater thermal energy. Along with an improved weight-power ratio, fuel consumption has been kept attractively low.
More purity comes from directly injected JH. A boost compensator controls emissions, even during burst of power, and parts finish and component timing result in better combustion. Cleaner gas emission also results from the improved injection pump and helical intake port which intensifies fuel and air swirl.
Handling the greater thermal loads of this engine is a more efficient coolant flow. The turbo is also cooled by forced water circulation which is thermo-controlled to eliminate temperature fluctuation and expansion. Cooling jets of water act on cylinder head valves.
Port and starboard dipsticks ease oil checks in twin engine boats. For auxiliary power front-end PTO (power take off) can be chosen. And a newly developed digitalized instrument panel monitors all vital systems.
