Taiko Marine Sewage Treatment Unit "Ship Clean"

Taiko's "Ship Clean" SBT series are compact, high performance marine sewage devices embodying the sewage treatment technology Taiko Kikai Industries Co., Ltd. has developed to fulfill its commitment to the prevention of marine pollution.
Ship Clean shall be installed in any vessel of 200 GT or above or accommodating to 10 persons or more in accordance with MARPOL 73178 Annex IV. These units are easier to operate and maintain than their predecessors. More than 3,000 sets of Ship Clean have been delivered since Taiko began manufacturing them in 1984.

Features

1. Extremely compact: Only 13 hours of stay means that Ship Clean is the smallest and lightest available device of its kind.
2. High performance: Ship Clean poses no risk of outflow of sewage due to the oscillation of the hull; it is stable in performance due to the use of a "Submerged Bio-Filter Treatment System" and the arrangement of the sterilization compartment at the center.
3. Full automation and integrated configuration: The discharge pump, aeration blower and control panel are integrated into the device, resulting in the simplification of otherwise complicated piping and wiring and in full automation except for a few maintenance and control procedures, such as sludge removal and disinfectant refilling.

Alfa Laval K.K.

New Generation of High-Performance Separators

At Sea Japan '96, Alfa Laval announced the introduction of 14 new high-performance separators for fuel and lube oil cleaning.
Alfa Laval says the separation efficiency and throughput capacities of the separators in its current range have been substantially increased through the use of advanced fluid dynamics to improve the disc stacks. The result is a whole new generation of separators that includes the popular Alcap series.
By improving caulk and slot geometry in the disc stack and by optimizing the distance between the disks, the degree of separation efficiency has been significantly increased. The new separators also have much higher maximum recommended flow rates.
In practical terms, the modifications result in higher throughput capacities which, in turn, will allow many yards, owners and operators to install smaller machines for the same duties.
Seven of the new machines are ready for immediate delivery, while the remainder will be available before the end of 1996.

Alcap for fuel oil

On display at the exhibition is the "flagship" of the new range, the new high-performance Alcap FOPX 611. Alcap is the most efficient separator in the world for cleaning low grade fuel oils. A redesigned bowl provides improved sludge discharge, improvements to the vertical power transmission reduce bearing temperatures, and a new operating device ensures a clean operating system.
Of special interest for yards and retrofit and replacement customers is the fact that the FOPX61 1 requires less deck space and is even easier to install then other versions.
