The marine sanitation device "Aerobict" manufactured by Goko Seisakusho Co., Ltd. is a very compact, lightweight, and fully automatic system with remarkable features that embody Goko's original technology. Thousands of "Aerobict" units have been delivered.
Aerobict, which meets a wide range of capacity requirements from 15 to 500 persons, has been approved by the U.S.C.G. and satisfies the performance standards of the IMO. The working principle of this device is based on the use of a biological membrane developed by Goko which fixes aerobic microorganisms on a catalytic oxidizer that is installed in lavatory drains. The microorganisms proliferate and work to purified waste mailer very efficiently.
In spite of its very small size, the device is subject to very little influence of the pitching or rolling of a ship because the microorganism remains fixed to the oxidizer even after the sludge is discharged and the water is replaced.
Operation of this device requires only electricity, air, seawater and disinfectant. Its structure is very simple, which means that little maintenance work is needed. One Aerobict model has a built-in vacuum sewage transfer mechanism which makes it possible to reduce the piping dimensions and, thereby, the weight of the ship.
Due to these outstanding features, Goko's "Aerobict" has been purchased by a large number of government-owned vessels, including those of the Defense Agency and the Maritime Safety Agency.
