Yanmar Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. specializes in the mass production of low- and medium-speed diesel engines in the 200 to 5,000 BHP range. The Amagasaki Plant is a state-of-the-art facility, that uses FMS (flexible manufacturing systems) to guarantee optimal production efficiency, and superior quality control. The engines produced at this plant are widely used as marine propulsion and auxiliary engines for fishing and cargo vessels, and for industrial motive power.
In recognition of Yanmar's high level of technology, advanced production equipment, and thorough quality control, the company is the first Japanese manufacturer authorized by the following organizations to independently inspect internal combustion engines: ABS. LA, DNV and COS. The Yanmar Amagasaki Plant has also been recognized by NK as an approved mass production facility.
The quality assurance system in operation at Yanmar's Amagasaki Plant has been assessed and approved by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance Limited against the following quality assurance standards: ISO 9001, EN29001, JIS Z9901 and BS5750. This certification covers quality assurance systems relating to the design, development and manufacture of internal combustion engines over 100 BHP, and is proof of the high international regard for the Amagasaki Plant' s excellent quality assurance system.
