Since the establishment as an internal combustion engine manufacturer for marine propulsion use in 1918, this Company has been concentrating its effort on research and development, and has greatly contributed to the progress in the shipping world everywhere by supplying excellent products meeting the needs of the times together with complete after-sale service activities.
At present, about 350,000 horsepower of engines are produced every year and total of about 10 million horsepower has gone into the world of shipping since the establishment, and is now covering the markets of every part of the globe including South East Asia, and Europe. As a proof of best performance and high reliability, Hanshin shares over 40% of new coasters built in Japan every year.
In addition to Hanshin's own four-stroke diesel engines, two-stroke KAWASAKI-MAN B&W 526MC, 535MC and L35NC/MCE diesel engines are manufactured under license of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Furthermore, as the manufacturer of ship proplusion system, Hanshin offers complete design and production of controllable pitch propellers, marine navigation support system, side thrusters, etc.
